After 10 overs. A great start by England. But all the more infuriating after their apocalyptic collapse last Saturday. This should not be a "dead rubber". This should be the deciding Test. It is not......
Bitterly cold out there this morning. No surprise there. Well forecast. Talk of double digits below zero. Accentuated by the wind chill factor. Time to wrap up.....
21 for 5 !! Misbah-Ul-Haq LBW Anderson. Cricket, bloody hell.......!!
Sergeant Troy a major disappointment at Southwell yesterday. I expected him to be at least in the three. Drawing board time. Now for Humidor today. The 4.45 at Meydan, 12.45 our time. Not quite sure why this meeting is taking place in the heat of the day, as opposed to under floodlights at dusk. I am sure there is a very logical explanation. As ever, a very competitive sprint handicap. Humidor will need all the breaks going. As ever. He did not get much luck when third last time out.....
As mentioned before, we have a cat. By mistake. I am not a "cat person". Never have been. As a family growing up, we never had cats. But always dogs. Three dogs in our lives now. Headleys Blue, the winner of 19 at Walthamstow. Ghillie, a springer spaniel. And Fearghal, a Dandie Dinmont. Ands now Tom, Harry Findlay's cat.......
The problem with our new arrival (or relatively new arrival) is that Tom became very used to living around dogs. Harry and Kay had retired greyhounds at home, including the coursing legend Big Fella Thanks. Tom lived with the greyhounds. The greyhounds lived with Tom. The problem here is that Headleys Blue in particular does not do cats. Tom saw Headley. And thought "here is a friendly greyhound". Headley saw Tom. And thought "lunch"......
An interesting dynamic around the place. Tom skulking through the shadows, seeking out his feed. Sleeping in our "boot room" at present because of the cold. As yet undiscovered by the dogs. But I guess his sleep is not exactly a deep one, punctuated with nightmares of rampaging greyhounds....
Darts last night. We came second. Butler's in Fordingbridge. Another interesting local "nightspot".....
Good to hear Headley still has it in him. Wouldn't fancy the cats chances over 460 especially with an inside draw. Matthew
