Piccadilly Circus on the yard yesterday morning - horseboxes heading off in several directions, and then a massive yellow coach decanting about 40 Warwick Racecourse Members at 9.30...
We marched them out to the gallops for third lot - and then marched them back again. And, as with the TBA, I am pretty sure that they all made it back. A knowledgeable and interested group, and I hope that some of the note taking that was going on bears a little fruit through the Winter...
After Boho's victory on Monday (which propelled us onto the Racing Post's "Hot List" just below Sir Mark and Henry Cecil, and one above Sir Michael....???!!!), it was back to reality yesterday. Zazys Gift failed to shine on her debut at Warwick, whilst Jane Starkey's epic journey to Sedgefield with Mountain Beat also failed to produce any dividend. I am under enormous pressure to attend Barney's Harvest Festival Service this morning. He has raided the baked bean department ("harvest"...??) as his contribution, and I have a feeling that second lot will have to do without me on my hill this morning. I am sure that they will cope....
And smiles all around yesterday (and especially from Naughty) as Double Dash came back up the drive after his Summer holidays at his Owners the Scott-Dunn's farm. Our first Cheltenham Festival runner and a horse of some potential - great to see him again....
