Hot. Damned hot out there....
Restless children, restless horses, an airless night, a sleepless one too. Almost a relief when the clock ticked around to 4.30....
In Sussex yesterday. An overnight stay with my sister affording the luxury of a lie-in. What a joy.
And then Kempton last night, the temperature more reminiscent of Kenilworth, Cape Town than suburban London. Smicker Smacker running well. A tough sort who will continue to progress and who will have no trouble winning races.
Two to Yarmouth today - but I fear I will be trapped behind my desk producing and paying invoices rather than taking in the legendary Seafood Restaurant. And then to downtown Birmingham tonight for the Press Night of "We Will Rock You". The diary scarily full - not quite sure where the next "breather" will be coming from. At least we have a couple of tentative plans to sneak away for a while in August to reacquaint ourselves with Barney and Tallulah....
But before that, July an important month. D.Loder has always told me that this is the month to get the winners on the board - a lot of racing, and, with proper planning, plenty of opportunities. I have heeded the advice and we have targetted this month - I hope that by my birthday on 1st August, July will have proved fruitful....
