More January than flaming July out there right now. A howling gale. Rain. Not a good sign for Lords tomorrow - the only plus side nowadays being the extraordinary drainage at HQ which basically means that as soon as it stops raining they can play cricket.....
The rain did for us last night. Music Box Express and Maddy almost at Yarmouth when I got a text from the track - "10mm of rain in last hour. 5mm more expected. Many apologies." The "many apologies" bit was a little unexpected - I know that the Yarmouth executive are pretty good, but the sudden storm can hardly be attributed to them......
MBE a non-runner, and will head to Leicester tomorrow as long as it remains dry there. Maddy allowed to take her chance in the claimer - a typical Maddy run, all heart and effort. Just a little lacking on the ability front. 4th. Prize money of about £144. Pays for the transport from here to about..........Towcester. Which is as far as Patrick and I got in the car before turning around when we got news of the great Anglian storm.....
Leaving poor Valerie and Matthew a little stranded at Yarmouth. A long journey home in the horsebox, getting back at about 2.00 a.m. I hope that they had a lovely holiday........
Heavy storms around. The plan today is Uttoxeter in the afternoon, Worcester tonight. We will wait and see if that annoying weather thing scuppers our plans once more......
