Muggy and damp out there. I hope it pours down at Cardiff all day long.....
Two winners yesterday. Tallulah absolutely hosed up in her sprint race - aside from a mild stumble at halfway, she was always in complete control and strolled home by a distance. Those who followed me in on Betfair never had a moment's worry.....
Barney performed with great credit to finish 3rd in a head-bobbing finish to his heat, whilst C showed the other Mothers a very clean pair of Jimmy Choos in her qualifier. She was trading at 1/10 for the final - but in a moment reminiscent of Devon Loch, she failed to hit the fluffy ball in a straight line when the calmest of nurdles over the line would have sufficed. The "fluffy ball" part of the race was most unexpected and had not been practised during the weeks of preparation. I will be writing to the school in the strongest possible terms about their "moving of the goalposts" which undoubtedly cost C the shiny "Number One" sticker - I mean, Aintree would hardly get away with building another Bechers Brook halfway up the run-in without telling anybody. Disgraceful....
No runners over the weekend. A chance to tackle the paperwork mountain. How exciting...??!!
